Talk Title: A Kondo insulato SmB6 as a promising candidate of topological insulator Recently, the topological insulator (TI) attracts much
interest in the condensed matter physics. The three dimensional TI are classified
as strong and weak ones according to the topological indices. Especially, in
the strong topological insulator (STI), so-called surface states always appear
independent of the normal of surface. The surface states have been actually
observed in a typical example of STI
Bi2X3 with X=Se or Te through the ARPES measurement. As other candidate
of TI, the Kondo insulator has been suggested with making use of a simple
model. In the talk, I will propose a promising candidate for STI SmB6, based on a detailed model capturing features of the previous first-principle calculations. The identification of the STI will be done by calculations of topological indices and surface spectra. |
